Thomas Cook's business in the UK and Ireland incorporates tour operating brands that carry over 4 million customers a year, a travel agency and bureaux de change network of more than 600 outlets, and the UK's second largest leisure airline comprising a fleet of 24 aircraft.

Thomas Cook's mission is to “Perfect the Personal Leisure Experience”. As part of this mission statement, the company is committed to working towards developing, operating and marketing its business in a sustainable manner. With a key focus on the environment, the company has a dedicated policy on waste management which is focused on reducing, reusing and recycling materials.

As part of this policy, Thomas Cook was one of the four visionary tour operators to spearhead the creation and take-up of the AXS-One e-Delivery Service, which provides electronic invoice delivery to the travel agent community.

The service, which has been operational since April 2005, has been implemented for Thomas Cook's Holiday Division brands and will be expanded to its specialist division during 2006.
